Find a type of book you enjoy reading. We have to enjoy reading just for pleasure before we can enjoy reading for enlightenment.

If you are looking for gifts, find a book that will spark interest in the reader. Trust your recipient that as they develop their reading habit, they will search farther up and further in to discover new interests. The first books read for pleasure open the door to knowledge. For a child, or a child at heart, I would recommend The Chronicles of Narnia below. This series was written by a friend of J.R.R. Tolkien as a fun romp for his young nieces. If you think the full collection is too intimidating, pull out the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and let them start the adventure with this first book. Knowing some of the characters from the first book, makes opening the second book easy.
